Constructive Media recently completed the interface and software deployment for a large four-panel touchscreen display located at Clough’s Mount Street office in Perth. This deployment mechanism also allowed for tablets to access the same infrastructure, making it a clean and easy to operate system with consistent content delivery.

The official version of V-Ray 2 SP1 for 3ds Max 2012 has been released! Constructive Media will be upgrading all of its systems to take full advantage of bug fixes and enhancements, and also looks forward to the speed increase that 3ds Max 2012 will (hopefully) bring.
The long-awaited release of 3D Studio Max 2012 has been made available by AutoDesk, and we’re looking forward to seeing if it is all that it is hyped up to be! This version promises much accelerated viewports, together with a raft of other speed increases.
Microsoft has announced that Internet Explorer 9 will be released on March 14 – however it will only run on Windows 7 so if you’re using XP you won’t be able to upgrade. Internet Explorer 9 will support HTML5 and video acceleration.
The official release of V-Ray 2 has seen Constructive Media embrace the new features that include both realtime and realtime GPU acceleration, new shaders, updated lighting, new render elements, lens effects and plenty of optimisations!

Autodesk has acquired all substantially all the assets of Softimage, a Canadian subsidiary of Avid Technology. Both Softimage and Autodesk Media & Entertainment are headquartered in Montreal, Canada. Softimage has been developing state-of-the-art 3D technology for more than 20 years.

Constructive Media is in the process of upgrading its standard operating environment (SOE) to 3ds Max 2009, we’ve been testing this out for quite a few weeks and thus expect there to me minimal problems/delays, but with all technology upgrades there may be a few unforeseen bugs!

A BRAND SPANKING NEW DIGITAL SLR now graces the Constructive Media asset registry! We now have at our disposal a Canon EOS 40D DSLR to take high-resolution digital photography of sites, aerial photos, and the like – given that we’re gadget freaks we’ve already given it a thorough workout, especially the 6.5fps shooting mode.

OUR PANTONE reference guides have arrived (with many thanks to Blueline Media) so now we have the full 4-Color (american spelling yes, it irks but can be managed) Pantone guides so you can see how your choice of corporate colours will be reproduced on both coated and uncoated stock.
WE HAVE ADDED AUTOSKETCH (.skf) FILE FORMATS to our list of “file formats we accept!” So your drafting team/designers no longer need to export out to DWF/DWG’s, you can simply send us the unmodified .SKF files and we’ll be able to transform those into 3D pre-construction visuals!

It’s natural progression at its very finest. We started off with the single cow in the renderfarm, happilly churning through pixel after pixel. However, soon there were more pixels than the single cow could accommodate for, so we added more cows.

After investing countless dollars in new software, and in particular the Vray rendering engine, the release of the new Nine Inch Nails video clip "Only" is 95% computer-generated, and done in Vray. Residential Attitudes had many successes at the recent HIA Kitchen and Bathroom Awards night, taking out "Best Bathroom in a Display Home, $200,001 – $300,000" award for "The Residence", Finalist in the $300,000 and over bathroom for "The Penthouse" and won the "Best Display Home Bathroom" award.

QUICKTIME VR PANORAMA technology has been out for a while, and the only caveat of this wonderful file format has been making the user download Apple’s QuickTime software in order to playback the file correctly.
A nice upgrade to our in-house printing capabilities, we have just added a sleek new wireless colour printer to our system, meaning you get high-resolution proofs not only quicker, but looking much better than our previous printer!

Progress continues with Maya at Constructive Media, and already the results are showing! Features like reflection blur, final gather and global illumination are in full swing, to produce more realistic lighting solutions.

Always seeking to improve the quality of its visuals, Constructive Media has invested in Maya 6, a high-end Academy-Award winning software rendering package that has also been used to produce special effects in movies such as Spiderman and Lord of the Rings – The Return of the King.
Digital Photography has given Constructive Media a very flexible solution for a whole range of needs from background images through to product photography. To upgrade our rapidly ageing digital cameras we have purchased a digital SLR camera to take product shots and site photos for photomontages.
